Inclusive Water Sports Festival with London Youth Rowing 10/06/2016

Some of our FEC Students who have really taken to the water this year completing Rowing and Bell Boating as part of their Community Sports and D of E Silver Award were really excited when they were invited to the Inclusive Water Sports Festival at the London Regatta as part of London Youth Rowing and the Sea Cadets.

The students had the opportunity to learn how to operate another 2 boats. This was a real treat as all students had the chance to try steering the Sailing boat as well as learn about the structure and components of a Sailing Boat. After this they then worked in pair to paddle in the Canoes, each pair were set various challenges of which after a bit of discovery learning through trial and error they once more looked like they were naturals on the water.

A big thank you to Jenny Cooper and her Team at LYR as well as the Sea Cadets that led the activities throughout the Festival, our students had a great day and thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
