FEC visit to Mayor at Barking and Dagenham Town Hall

Meeting the Mayor

We all went on a trip to see the Mayor of Barking and Dagenham.

We travelled by public transport to Barking Town Hall. 

The meeting with the Mayor took place in his chambers.  We asked him questions about what it is like to be Mayor, we also asked what his duties were.  Mayor Bremner said wearing his robes for a long while can get heavy and hot.

Some of us tried on the Mayor's robes and even got the opportunity to hold the mace.  After, we had refreshments in the Mayor's parlour.
